Scream
One of the best horror films that were released in 2022 is Scream. The fifth installment of the horror sequel got made twenty-five years after the first film was released and created a stir at the box office.
Just the thought of watching the Ghostface killer unleashing his wicked prowess makes us imagine what if we were in the shoes of Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and others? The new installment has the original cast joined by Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Dylan Minette, Jack Quaid, Jenna Ortega, and more.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The classic slasher series is back with a vengeance, on the popular streaming platform, Netflix. In the latest sequel of the 1974 movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Leatherface is on a rampage to claim new victims.

How can a romantic getaway go so horribly wrong? Well, this film is all about that and more.
Umma
This is another supernatural thriller from the stable of Iris Shim starring Sandra Oh and Fivel Stewart. The two actresses are mothers and daughters in this film. All set to hit the screens soon, it has some amazing actors on board, working up to create a horror storm.
Morbius
Jared Leto stars in this spine-chilling story where biochemist Michael Morbius works hard to cure himself of a rare blood disorder, but the treatment process goes horribly wrong and he turns himself into a vampire instead. The line between a hero and a villain clearly gets blurry. It is all set to hit the screen on April 1, 2022. Although the release date has been delayed because of the Covid-19 resurgence, it is surely going to be worth the wait.
The Black Phone
Finney, a 13-year-old boy is in the thick of things in this movie when he is abducted by a murderer. While he stays locked in a soundproof basement, his cries for help get an eerie response as he gets answers from a phone on the wall. They are the voices of the dead former victims of the kidnapper. However, instead of scaring Finney, the good old spirits help him escape. Slated for release on June 24, this film makes all the general tropes of horror movies fall on its head.
Nope
Jordan Peele has created a separate genre for horror-movie buffs, think along the lines of 'Get Out' and 'Us'. The storyline with whatever we see in the trailer is unearthly again. Here, a dark ominous cloud hovers around in the lives of Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya. Is it the evil presence of extra-terrestrial beings? or something eviler? We will have to wait till July 22, 2022, to find out. The last scene in the trailer as the protagonist is thrown mid-air leaves a lasting eerie impression.
