Zendaya is an iconic fashion star, simple but iconic! Styled in the haute couture Valentino collection, Zendaya delivered a mesmerizing look at the Oscars.
Zendaya arrived at the Oscars in a bright yellow, custom-made gown by Valentino, with zip detail and cutout design below the bra, giving the outfit a mix of a crop top and a long gown, which fitted the actress' figure beautifully.
Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach, have a long history together, and pulling off her iconic looks has been seamless over time. It’s like they have fashion chemistry.
Valentino’s piece was a perfect choice for Zendaya. It was comfortable, simple, and detailed. Roach and the actress, however, delivered a unique mix, a cocktail if you would, that completely raised the roof about her outfit. Valentino has never been as exquisitely combined as Zendaya and Law Roach made it to be at the Oscars. The actress was adorned in Bulgari jewelry, wearing several carats of diamonds worth a total of $6 million that complemented Piccioli’s yellow gown perfectly.
Roach and the actress pulled off a look that complemented Valentino's outfit, including the style of her hair which was allowed to fall long and freely. Ariel from the little mermaid comes to mind when looking at the long, flowing yellow gown combined with her wavy hair, which gave her the appearance of an underwater princess.
The bright yellow gown was a perfect canvas for the Bulgari pieces she wore as her necklace, earrings, and rings. Her earrings had tones of the same yellow color on one side like that of Pierpaolo Piccioli's dress, and the other had white-colored diamonds, making Zendaya stand out at the Oscars red carpet.
As a brand ambassador of both Bulgari and Valentino, Zendaya did justice to both brands and represented them in a way that people couldn't help but compliment her outfit.
What's important to note is that Zendaya's outfit was inspired by Cher from a 1970 show called ‘Sonny and Cher’. The Pierpaolo Piccioli design which Zendaya wore was reported to have taken almost 300 hours to make, which is nearly 2 weeks.
What was really spectacular about the dress was its bright yellow hue that glowed in the dark, a theme in her fashion outfits that Roach and Zendaya have explored in the past. In 2019, Zendaya and her stylist also pulled off a ball gown that glowed at the Met Gala event, stunning her fans.
According to Law Roach, Zendaya is always actively involved in organizing her looks. He said that Zendaya had always loved one piece of jewelry that she had seen in a little preview when they visited the store a week before the event and that's when she knew that she wanted to pair it with her gown on the red carpet.
Roach commented that the entire process is always done together, they’ve gotten so used to working with each other, and the outcome is breathtaking.
