Will Smith is one of the biggest movie stars of the past two decades. With a long list of blockbusters under his belt, the actor has amassed an impressive personal fortune of $350 million.
And he has no problem putting that wealth to good use. This is evident in the massive mansion he owns in Calabasas, California, which was previously listed for $42 million.
Let’s find out if the home lives up to its hefty price tag.
Custom Designed Home
In a feature article on Architectural Digest magazine, the Smiths let cameras inside their family home.
It boasts of having an adobe-style architectural design which is complemented by the warm color tones with bright accents used in its interiors. Its oversized rooms are accompanied by skylight windows letting in lots of natural light.
The home comes complete with just about anything a celebrity family might need. It features a screening room, a meditation space, a gaming area, and a recording studio, where Will’s daughter Willow recorded her hit single ‘Whip My Hair’ in 2010.
Even more impressive is that the estate reportedly has its own ZIP code, which justifies the actor’s nickname as the ‘Fresh Prince of Calabasas’.
Inspired by Love
Another interesting thing about the mansion is that it was designed to have no dead ends. According to Will, it was intentionally done to create an ‘infinite cycle’, which represents his and his wife Jada’s hope for their love.
Married in 1997, the couple’s relationship seemed to be the stuff of romantic movies until it was recently revealed that Jada had an ‘entanglement’ with another man while she and the ‘Gemini Man’ actor were on a break.
Meanwhile, Jada described their family home as a ‘spiritual endeavor’ that reflected their organic and earthy personality as a couple. She shared that they wanted something that was natural and that has ties to the land.
Lavish Real Estate Portfolio
The Calabasas home isn’t the only noteworthy part of the couple’s property portfolio.
Before the family settled down in California, they used to have multiple homes in another sunny state--Hawaii. They reportedly sold one of them for $20 million back in 2011 and another in 2017.
Meanwhile, Will also owns a luxury trailer that he used while filming his movies. The vehicle cost $2.5 million and featured all amenities a regular house offers.
It remains unclear whether or not he still owns the trailer.
